Jessie Woods

jessie woods aviation pioneerJessie Woods was an amazing character.  A pioneering aviatrix, Jessie rose the wing, parachuted under a silk canopy, gave flight instruction to US soldiers, and never learned to drive a car.  She was a violinist, aviation mechanic, member of the OX-5 group, the 99’s Women Pilots, a fantastic storyteller, and one tough lady.

Jessie and her husband, Jimmie founded the Flying Aces Air Circus, the longest running air circus in US history.  Here are but a few images and links to more information about Jessie.
